Welcome to the wabi-sabi * style Shadow Pond Journal. Below are the general guidelines which may vary occasionally so it's good to double-check them prior to submission.

SUBMISSION PERIODS :


10th May - 10th June ( themed) The theme is announced nearer the time in the journal.

10th November - 10th December (unthemed)


The bi-annual issues are generally published within 6 weeks of the closing submission date, however, if you would like to be the first in the know regarding  publication dates please follow me on https://substack.com/@katherineewinnick as either a free or paid subscriber (paid subscribers automatically become Honorary Friends of SPJ).


SUBMISSION GUIDELINES :


Please submit 3 previously unpublished haiku, monoku, or duostitch  - including a kigo and/or 3 senryū and your biography, using the submissions form to the left during the submission periods only. If the form does not say sent or if you are using mobile web (the submissions form does not show up in this case) you may alternatively send the submission to shadowpondjournal@gmail.com 


Please avoid spam, plagiarism and AI poetry.


I do not send out rejections. If you have not heard back from me by the end of the submissions period you are free to send your poems elsewhere.


Your biography will only be displayed in the first instance you appear within the journal, thereafter, you will purely be in the issue you have been accepted into.


Your biography and poetry can be located by using the search engine within the homepage.

Copyright returns to the author upon publication -  however, Shadow Pond Journal retains the right to publish chosen poetry within the Issues elsewhere on occasion.



FEES :

This is a non-fee accepting or paying journal - poetry should be free for all here. Shadow Pond Journal is however  volunteer led - should you wish to contribute and/ or become a friend of SPJ please send donations at ko-fi.com/katherineewinnick  or paypal.me/katherineewinnick 


  wabi-sabi is an acceptance and appreciation of the impermanent, imperfect and incomplete nature of everything
