Miera Rao, USA

Introducing  :  Miera Rao is a multi-genre writer in California, who has won awards for poetry, personal essay and memoir.  She was a finalist in the Wow! Women on Writing 2024 Summer Flash Fiction Contest, and a winner in the 2023 Writer’s Digest Personal Essay Awards contest.  Her short stories, reflecting experiences of the South Asian diaspora, have been published by the Sand Hill Review Press, Flash Fiction Magazine, and Paper Angel Press, amongst other publications. 

Rao’s poems are largely inspired by Nature and climate change.  Her poem won Third Prize in the 2024 Dancing Poetry Contest, and she was the recipient of the 2022 Effie Lee Morris Literary Award for Poetry, by the Women’s National Book Association – SF Chapter.
