Mary Burgess, UK

Introducing  : Mary Burgess, from Northumberland, has 4 children and 7 grandchildren. She is a retired RE teacher who loves writing poetry, running and wild swimming as well as co-leading 2 circle dance groups in her local area.

She has been a member of the BHS for a few years now but has been writing haiku since she was introduced to them as part of a creative writing course almost 20 years ago. 

Mary also used them to great effect with students who invariably enjoyed their format.
